Transatlantic Slave Trade

The transatlantic slave trade can be understood to a fellow enslaved person to go through a series of catastrophic events. Severed him or her from their home, family and nearly all things that was closest to them. They captured the African interior, transferred to the coast, sale to slave traders, passage in a slave ship, and sale and enslavement in the americas. The transatlantic slave trade was an oceanic trade in African men , woman , and children which lasted from the mid-sixteenth century until 1860S

Slavery Rebellion

The Haitian Revolution has been described as the largest and most successful slave rebellion in the West. Slaves initiated the rebellion in 1791 and by 1803 they had succeeded in ending not just slavery but French control over the colony. The Haitian Revolution however, was much more difficult, consisting of several revolutions going on simultaneously. These revolutions were influenced by the French Revolution of 1789, which would come to represent a new concept of human rights, citizenship, and participation in government.

Haitian cuisine is a Creole cuisine that is a blend of the different culinary styles contributed by the many cultures inhabiting the country like French, Spanish, Arabic, African, and indigenous Taíno. Potatoes, beans, corn, rice, and plantains are the staples of the diet.Haiti’s literature has a relatively short history beginning with the independence movement in the country against French colonial rule in the late 18th century.
